Readers deserve to know how the guides on Digital Forerunners are made. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the tools we work with, but a person checks, corrects and edits every page before it is published. This page explains how.
Where AI helps
We use Claude, an AI tool made by Anthropic, for part of the groundwork: collecting background information about a product category, suggesting an outline for a buying guide and writing a rough first draft. This saves time on routine work and helps us make sure a guide covers what a buyer needs to know, from connections and compatibility to comfort and price.
A draft from an AI tool is only a starting point. We never publish text exactly as the tool produced it.
What the editor checks
When a draft exists, the editor takes over, and that is where most of the work is done. The editor:
- checks every specification, such as refresh rate, resolution, driver size, battery life or weight, against the manufacturer’s own data
- compares products and verdicts with reliable reviews, owner feedback and, where available, hands-on experience
- removes claims that cannot be confirmed and corrects anything that is out of date
- makes sure strengths and weaknesses are described fairly
- rewrites the text so it is clear, useful and written for real buyers
AI tools can make mistakes, mix up model numbers or describe a product that has been replaced. That is why no AI text goes live without this review.
What AI does not do
- AI does not decide which products we recommend or how we rank them.
- AI does not test or rate products for us.
- We do not publish images that pretend to show a real product or a real person when they were made by AI.
- We do not let AI write or reply to messages from readers.
Responsibility
The editor and the website’s owner are responsible for everything published on Digital Forerunners, whether or not an AI tool helped with the draft. If you find an error, we want to know.
Your information
We do not enter readers’ personal information into AI tools. Messages you send us are handled as described in our privacy policy.
